2022-23 Class Project – C.H.A.N.G.E.S. Project

The Leadership Stockton Class of 2022-23 is excited to announce their C.H.A.N.G.E.S. (Champions Helping A New Generation Establish Success) Project!

Project Recap

Boys and Girls Club – Sierra Vista

The Club is relaunching in Stockton at the newly renovated building in the Sierra Vista Neighborhood. The Class of 2023’s goal was to furnish and enhance the education and recreation space inside and outside. The project included a technology hub, art center, and additional educational activities. The brand new outdoor sporting area will provide athletic interaction. This club will serve 125 elementary and teen aged youth per day.

Children’s Home of Stockton – Catalyst Program

The Catalyst Transitional Housing Program houses homeless youth 18-24 years of age. Youth learn valuable life skills and tools to help them move into permanent stable housing. The class goal was to provide the facility with a much needed outdoor recreation and relaxation area. The project included providing landscaping, a gazebo structure, firepit, mural as well as outdoor games and activities to provide residents with a tranquil place at home.

Haven of Peace

Haven of Peace provides shelter and resources for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, homelessness or other life-changing circumstances. Services including housing, job preparation, parenting classes, food and nutrition, and much more. The food storage warehouse needed an updated HVAC system to provide better climate control. The class goal was to provide assistance and training in researching funding opportunities and grant writing.
